Ford Taurus Door Is Ajar Q. I have a 1997 Ford Taurus, 67,000 miles. My door ajar light comes on occasionally and stays on. When this happens, the dome light and courtesy light stay on. You can not lock the driver side door (the auto door lock locks it but it pops back up and you need to push it down by yourself.) Thanks, Brian

A. The first thing I would check is the door adjustment. Look at the back of the doors where they meet the B and C pillars. They should sit nice and flush. If they stick out it will make the door ajar light and dome lights stay on all the time.
