GMC 4X4 Speed Sensor

Q. I have a 1989 Ford F-250 pickup. It's not starting up. When you go to start it, it won't turn over and it sounds like it not getting any gas. My husband has checked the starter, changed the spark plugs, changed the fuel filter and the main fuel pump.

We know it has a fuel pump in each gas tank but we tried to start it on either tanks and it did the same thing. So we just changed the main fuel pump and it didn't work. It does the same thing. My husband is lost doesn't know what else to do.

Please help,
Michelle

A. I'm confused Michelle, and believe me, it doesn't take much to confuse me. You said it won't turn over, which to me means to me that the engine is not cranking. Then you say it sounds like it is not getting gas which would mean that the engine is cranking but not starting.

If it is not cranking, then it could be someting as simple as a dead battery to a bad starter motor. In this case the first thing I would do is check the battery and make sure it is fully charged.
