Wrenches And Schools
Q. I am looking for a torque wrench for basic automotive repair. I am looking to bid on a wrench on ebay. It is a Matco and its torque range is claimed to be 0-75 pounds. Will this be sufficient for average auto repair or should I look for something that can handle I higher load?
Also, I am currently a computer programmer in NYC and am thinking very strongly of a career change. Automotive repair is something I have been thinking about seriously. Is there any route of training I could take that would allow me continue working full time at my current job while studying to become a mechanic? I.e. are their night schools that I could reasonably go to while working a full day job? If so do you perhaps know of one that you would recommend in the NYC/Brooklyn area? Thanks a lot for your time.
Erik
A. That Matco torque wrench would be good for most jobs, but I would recommend one that goes to at least 100 foot pounds.
As far as trade schools go, I came up with four. You can contact them to get specific information.
