Ford Explorer Wipers Don't Work

Q. I have a 1992 Ford Explorer with 249,000 miles on it. It has been a great vehicle. But recently my wipers only work in the "fast" position. The delay and the "normal" speed stopped working. When I turn the wipers on I can hear the, what I think is the relay "clicking". It is the 2WD model with manual transmission. Can you give me a hint on what could be my problem?

Thanks,
Darryl

Ford Explorer Wipers Don't Work

A. There are three parts to the wiper system, the switch, the motor and a Interval Wiper Module. Any one of which could cause the problem.

If you go to the local public library, in the reference section you will find the Mitchell Manuals and they will have a detailed step by step procedure for testing the system. It is most likely the wiper motor itself.
