Replacing A GMC Pick Up Alternator

Q. How do I replace an alternator in a GMC pick up truck?

Replacing A GMC Pick Up Alternator

A. While you don't say an engine size I'll try to explain it. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Remove the belt on the alternator. Remove the plug and there is a single large red wire on the back. There should be a 10mm nut. Sometimes when you take it off the wire terminal will want to spin. If so you will need to try to hold the terminal while turning the nut. Then there are 2 or 3 bolts holding it to the brackets and engine. Good luck!
