Chevy Lumina A/C Problems
Q. Vincent, I live in Louisiana and the A/C with my Lumina started giving me some problems. It sometimes takes one to five minutes for my A/C to start blowing cold air. When it does blow cold air it does a good job. Even when stopped for long periods of time it blows consistently cold. I can sometimes turn my A/C on then off again after is starts blowing luke warm air and the A/C will seem to 'kick in' and start blowing cold air.
It almost seems like their is a switch or something that is not getting activated for the compressor to turn on. Your comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

A. A system pressure check should be made and possibly scanned for codes and A/C data. Maybe the pressure switch is intermittently going out. You need to watch the compressor clutch when turning on to see how long it takes to engage. There are lots of switches and wires that can be related to the problem, so a schematic would be helpful.
