Jeep Cherokee Laredo Coolant Leak Q. Help! I am having a problem with my cooling system. I am leaking more coolant then I should, enough to were I put some in once a week. I had it in the shop a month ago for this problem and had the thermostat replaced and the housing cleaned. Took it back after a month because it started all over. Then they told me I would need these replaced and it would stop my coolant leak. Needed repairs: Gasket chain case co Seal pkg timing case Gasket water pump 1996 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 5.2 liter V-8 80,000 miles This is all I know hope it helps Thanks, Ruth

A. I think the best thing you can do is take it to the Dealer. This guy wants to replace too many things for my liking. Like the water pump gasket, it is extremely rare for a water pump gasket to leak.
