Who Makes What Tools?
Q. Mr. Ciulla: I have heard that the Husky brand of hand tools which is sold by Home Depot here in Canada is actually made by the same company (Stanley Works) as Mac tools are, and in fact both tools are manufactured in the same factory and both carry a lifetime warranty. My question to you is if in fact both brand of tools are made in the same factory why are Mac tools so much more expensive than Husky tools?
Jeff
A. I do know that Mac and Stanley make their own tools, but I can't confirm or deny that one or the other makes the Husky brand of tools.
As to why a company can make the same tools for two different brand names is you are paying for that brand name. It's like going into the grocery store and buying a can of Green Giant canned corn and the store brand. They can be the exact same product but because one is branded for the store, it can be sold cheaper than the name brand.
