Porsche Instrument Replacement

Q. I find you on the net, and I hope you can help me with my problem. I have a 1980 Porsche 924, 2 liter engine, 5 valve and no options. Someone break in my car, and stole all the instruments!!!

I got new ones, but there is one problem. The old instrument who tells you the speed of the engine (sorry, I don't know the english word, but not the speedometer) was connected with one black, one brown and one green wire.

The new instrument should be connected with a plug who has many options. they are all marked with numbers, and I can't find out how I shall do it. The brown should go straight to ground, and the green straight to the coil. I guess. what about the black? If you tell what the numbers on the new instrument are for, I will be very happy.

A. I believe you are referring to the tachometer. That measures the engine rpm. Since you seem to have quite a challenge ahead of you, I think the complete wiring diagram will come in very handy. Just click on the link below to download it. It's a little big and may take a while to download, but it'll be worth it.
