Jeep Wagoneer Loses Power
Q. Discovered leaking front left flex line. Replaced line and bled. Light still on. Bled Back RT to center proportioning valve and bled master. Light still on. Disconnected negative battary cable for several minutes to clear RABS controller. Light still on.
Disconnected Low level lead on reservoir to see what it did and disconnected electo-mechanical lead from RABS valve. Now both yellow and red brake lights stay on after reconnecting leads. While holding 100 psi of pressure on brake pedal engine off then starting engine light stays off until I slowly release pressure from pedal, light comes on half way travel. Front pads are within limits and shoes were replaced last month.
What should I do next? I am an aircraft technician with FED EX and can't believe this is kicking my butt. I feel I am capable of solving this problem, but literature for RABS can't be found in any of the books I have.
Please help,
LeighA. I don't know Leigh, you've done just about everything I would have suggested.
I would try bleeding the system once more in this order: Master cylinder, RR wheel, LR wheel. RF wheel, LF wheel. Ford says the RABS does not have to be active to bleed the brakes.
If the low fluid light goes out and the yellow RABS light stays on, they could be two different problems. By bleeding the system you fix one, but not the other. If the yellow light doesn't go off then I would recommend pulling the DTCs out and seeing what they say.
