Plymouth Sundance DTC 34
Q. Vince I have a 1989 Plymouth Sundance. I get the code 34. The car does have cruise control. Will this cause the torque converter not to lock up? The converter does not seem to engage.
A. Code 34 is "Speed Control Solenoid Driver Circuit" and would have no bearing on the Torque Converter Clutch operation. A code 37 would indicate a problem with the TCC Solenoid.
The TCC may engage without you feeling it. The only way to tell for sure is with a tachometer hooked up so you can see a drop in rpm when it kicks in.
