Audi Starts And Dies

Q. I have a 1986 Audi Coupe GT that will start and run for about 10-15 seconds then dies. The shop I brought it to thinks that it is something to do with an electrical problem. Here's what it does, I guess it's getting gas to the main fuel injector but then it's not distributing the gas to the five cylinders. It not opening up or something so if you have any ideas please let me know.

Thank you,
Jason

A. I would think the problem is in the fuel distributor. Inside the fuel distributor is a sensor plate. This plate reacts to the incoming air and controls the amount of fuel into the engine. If the plate does not start moving when air enters the engine, no fuel will flow.

Now I'm assuming that the fuel pump is working correctly and that the fuel pressure is good. If you are not sure about this, I would check it first to eliminate it as the cause of the problem.
