Infiniti M30 Rough In Drive
Q. Help!! I own a 1992 Infiniti M30 convertible (which may be reason enough to ask for help) that has been in the shop more than out of it for the past six weeks. After a complete tune-up including new plugs, rotor and wiring, it still sputters and backfires, "bogs down" and generally runs poorly at low rpm (1,500 to 3,000).
It will rev smoothly in neutral and runs fine while cruising. The mechanics at the garage can't seem to figure out the problem.
My question; Is there a web site I can go to that might have the answer to this problem. Are there any factory notices for Nissan's 3.0 liter engine that might be relevant? How can I find them?
Thank you for your help.
A. I like the M20, it's a fun car to drive. It sounds to me like you have a clogged fuel filter. I would hope that someone would have changed it before this. And as long as I'm thinking about it, did you have the Recall done?
The only place I know of where you can get the information you're looking for is at Alldata. It's $24.95 a year for a one vehicle subscription and it includes all the technical service bulletins. You can go to their web site by clicking the link below.
