Buick Century Has Some Problems
Q. Okay, I just got the car but the cruise control doesn't work. So far, have gotten power from the multi-switch on the steering column area to the pink (hot) wire and the gray (cruise control switch, the slide one) wire at the end of the electrical connector that plugs into the cruise control module under the hood (drivers side near the front).
Also, is there a fuse for this because the only fuse panel I've found is in the glove box and there's no slot for Cruise Control. Any other suggestions? I've noticed that when I first start it up and drive off, the first few sharp turns I make causes the engine to almost cut out (it actually did this morning). Any other time I drive it it's fine, not peppy, but okay.
BTW, how do you change the rear plugs on this 3100 engine? I can't even see them, much less change them and they do need changing and at about $100.00 to $200.00 to have them changed, I'm really interested in knowing how to find and get to the back plugs.

Thank you,
BruceA. First, to change the plugs, you need to remove the bolts for the forward engine struts near the radiator support. Then tilt or roll engine forward to access the rear bank plugs. The cruise has a fuse but may share it with another accessory. Just check all the fuses, even under the hood. Also make sure the cable is hooked up to the throttle body. As for the idle problem, possibly a vacuum leak or you need to clean the throttle body bore.
