Buick LeSabre Multiple Warning Lights

Q. I have a 2001 Buick LeSabre Custom. Mileage 23000, automatic transmission. When I have the car in park and am idling, the Traction Off light, Airbag light, ABS and brake lights all come on at the same time and stay on until I park and turn it off for at least one hour. It is getting more frequent.

I have had it to the dealer, it is still under warranty, they keep telling me they have called the factory and keep changing out parts. I don’t think they know how to fix it. Do you have any ideas why this is happening or what is causing it?

Thanks...

A. All these lights should leave some DTC's in a module or two. Those codes would help in finding a problem. There is a possibility that the ignition switch is making bad contact to those modules. You are going to have to be patient with the dealer.

They should be able to put you in a rental car until it's fixed. This is a good reason for them to get it fixed because GM will only usually cover two days of rental. The rest would be out of their pocket.

I would drop it off and get a loaner car. Then just tell the service manager that he can call you when it's done. This puts all the pressure on the dealer. Also mention the lemon law buy back. This car isn't safe if the airbag light is on.
