Bronco Fuel Filter

Q. I have a 1987 Bronco 2 (Eddie Bauer), 2.9 liter engine, fuel injected, 150,000 km's, 4 speed automatic, 4x4, A/C, ABS, P/S. It's been running rough lately so I changed the plugs, wires and cap. A friend suggested the fuel filter but I can't find it.

It only starts to run rough after I drive it a short distance. I could let it sit running in my driveway forever and it sounds and runs fine. Any ideas? And could you please let me know where the fuel filter should be.

Thanking you in advance,
Jim

A. The fuel filter is located under the truck, and is tucked inside the drivers side frame rail towards the front. Just where the frame rail turns up.

Did a good job of hiding it, didn't they?
