Chevy G20 Van Can't Make It Up The Hill

Q. I have a 1994 Chevy G20 Van with a brand new factory crate 4.3 liter engine and automatic transmission installed. Mileage 450 miles, fuel injected (TFI), ABS brakes and cruise control. The problem seem to be intermittent, for example I drive to Manchester NH from Massachusetts about 150 miles going there the van acts normal going up hill can keep up with traffic. Good power over all.

Chevy G20 Van Can't Make It Up The Hill

Coming home different story first hill I come to start say at 60 mph half way up down to 40 then about 25 at top of hill. It seems if you push the gas pedal to floor around the 40 mark you will go slower let up on the gas a bit engine will pick up enough to get over hill. Any ideas? Company that put the engine in say that part of the problem is not their responsibility? New oxygen sensor was put in, new catalytic converter also.

Thank you in advance,
Raymond

A. Sounds like you are loosing fuel pressure. Possibly a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.
