Chevy Malibu Battery Light Comes On Q. I own a 1998 Chevy Malibu, and do not have the owners manual, so I don't know what the light means. My car has ran beautifully since I bought it about two months ago and the battery light came on. I replaced the alternator. Everything was fine. Today the battery light came on, a light that has a symbol and say "check" beneath it.

My power windows stopped working and so did the heat and A/C control. All this happened at once. Any suggestions?

A. You need to re-check the alternator output. Also the battery connections. Sounds like it's not charging. Could also be the wires to the alternator.
