Chevrolet Blazer Power Window Motor
Q. 2001 Chevrolet Blazer LT 4WD. I have just run into my driver window not working at all. I have pulled the panel out of the door and checked for 12 volts when I push up and down on the button and get voltage at the two terminals. I am now convinced it is either a broken wire connection to the motor or the motor is gone.
Is there a web page or something similar that will assist me into this process of changing the motor to make it easier? I read an article you wrote about a motor and said you could lose a finger or arm. I want to research this before I end up a statistic.
Thanks,
BrianA.
Try your local library for a Chilton or Motor repair manual. Yes, these can be very dangerous to do if you don't know what's in there!! First, make sure it's the motor. The two wire plug at the motor needs to have power and ground. Get a test light and install one side to one wire and the other to the other. The switch changes polarity. The test light should light with switch pushed in either direction. If so, it's the motor. The complete regulator needs to come out of door. Then you can install a safety bolt and drill out the motor rivets. Be careful please!
