Daytona Cold Start Problem Q. 1989 Dodge Daytona 2.5 liter 186,000 kilometers. I never had this problem before, it sat while I went on a vacation for one week. When I came back it took me two days to start my Daytona. It will burn rich for one minute and then the check engine light comes on and then runs fine after that. This happens always at the start.

I have replaced the temperature sensor, oxygen sensor, fuel filter, plugs, wires, AIS motor. Help. Help. Help.

A. If the check engine light is on, I would suggest pulling the codes out and see what they say. Check my Troubleshooting section for information on how to access the codes and what they mean. Once you know what the codes are you'll have a much better chance of fixing the problem.
