Chevy Cavalier Ignition Switch

Q. I have 1995 Chevy Cavalier with a 2.2 liter fuel injected engine, A/C, P/S, ABS brakes, 97,340 miles and automatic transmission. Car lost power and died last night. After troubleshooting I found no spark. While troubleshooting It started twice. What I noticed is trouble with the ignition. When I turn the key to "ON", dummy lights on dash flicker and turn signals won't work.

Chevy Cavalier Ignition Switch

After turning the key fully on and off a few times the lights stay on okay and turn signals work and car starts. Once in a while the key won't turn unless you play with it. Is it module or tumbler or both?

Help me help my daughter,
Richard

A. Call a dealer first and see if this is under their "thermal events" recall. If not, sounds like a bad ignition switch and a sticking lock cylinder.
