Dodge Shadow Engine Transplant Q. I am looking to replace my current Dodge Shadow engine and transmission with a newer Daimler-Chrysler engine and transmission. I would like to replace them with those of a late 90s 4 cylinder Dodge Neon, or if possible, a V-6 engine and transmission from a late 90s large family sedans or even mini-vans. 1993 Dodge Shadow 2.2 litre Fuel Injection Automatic transmission 173,000 kilometers P/S, A/C

1. Would these engines fit in the shadow bay?
2. Would I have to make modifications to the electrical harnesses, the radiator and the suspension?
3. Would you recommend such-a-transplant?

A. Yes, a Dodge Neon engine and transmission will fit with some modifications to the motor and transmission mounts. Electrical modifications, yes, but not to much. Suspension will be fine because it's also a four banger.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend the swap I would rather rebuild or replace the stock engine.
