A Question And An Answer
Q. Vince, I looked through the Chevy section and couldn't find any reference to this problem. I have replaced the door lock actuator on the drivers side door. Now the passenger side door actuator won't engage. I checked the voltage and there is voltage to the switch but not to the actuator.
I have a feeling the problem is with the relay. The problem is I can't find the darn thing. Is there any way I can get a picture of what I should be looking for and where it physically is located. Someone told me it's under the hood, but where??? Someone else said it's inside and under the dash. I am so confused.

TedBy the way, The answer to the question on page 21 "Astro Seats". The seats (and seat latch) get locked into place once they are down. You have to pushdown on the back of the seat and while pushing down, lift the latch.
Kindest regards,
TA. The relay should be under the passenger side dash near the kick panel. If the drivers side works it can't be the relay as it controls all the actuators together except for the slider door. It has a delay relay in case the switch is activated when the door is open. When slider is closed there will be a slight delay until it locks through the delay relay.
I've seen a few problems with these vans. First, it may be broken wires that run through the rubber hose between the body & the door. After so many openings and closings the wires flex and break. Hint: if this is what you find, fix all wires because it's just a matter of time before another wire breaks. Second, The power release button in the rear hatch if it has the two lower dutch doors and the upper glass hatch, tends to get water in it and shorts out the whole system by either keeping the relay in lock or unlock all the time until the water goes away. This can burn out actuators! The fix is a new switch. Good luck, hope this is of some help.
