Left-Hand To Right-Hand
Q. Dear Vincent Ciulla, I am wondering whether or not you would know the best way I can find ways of converting left to right hand drive in all models and years of U.S cars? The reason is I wish to import them to New Zealand.
Also do you know of any good wholesaling web sites in damaged vehicles etc.? I thank you for your time and look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
ThomasA. I really don't think it's economically feasible to do what you have in mind. This is something that is in the basic structure of the car and is built in from the ground up. Cars that ship to New Zealand are already constructed to be right hand drive.
I don't know of any web sites that sell damaged vehicles, I think this is something you would have to contract with individual wrecking yards. Also there is a legal matter to be considered. I don't know what the laws are in New Zealand, but here in the United States, states are required to put on the vehicle title if the vehicle is totaled or wrecked.
In my opinion I think by the time you buy the cars, have them shipped to you, repair them to meet local and national laws the cost would skyrocket to a level where the cost would make it difficult to resell.
