Dodge Dynasty Oil Flow Problem

Q. The problem is we are having a lubrication problem on the back cylinders. We have replaced rocker arms and head gaskets. Now the mechanic wants to replace cam bearings. We've paid $1,000 now they want to charge an additional $900.

Will this cure the problem?

A. If the parts are bad, then they need to be replaced. But if you don't solve the lubrication problem, the new parts will just go bad too.

It sounds like the oil passages need to be cleaned out. I would recommend taking the rocker shafts off and, using a combination of solvent and compressed air, blow all the oil passages clear. Only when you are sure the passages are clear and you have good oil flow would I go ahead and install the new parts.

No sense fixing the symptoms without curing the problem.
