Chevy Prism Cooling Fans keep Running
Q. Vince, I have a 1998 Chevy Prism, standard transmission, A/C with 90,000 miles. The radiator and A/C fans run continuously with the key on, no matter what the engine temperature is. I've replaced the coolant sensor on the back of the engine block, no luck. The fans still run all the time, the only way I have found to shut them off is to remove the relays for each fan. Where do I look next?
Thanks,
LynnA. I would need a service manual to troubleshoot this. It could be a fan relay that is stuck or the fan control switch (mounted in the thermostat housing) is telling the ECM that the car is overheating or A/C is on all the time.
