A/C Use vs Milage

Q. Dear Sir: How much does A/C use decrease milage?

Tim

A. Well Tim, it depends on what kind of driving you do. If you do a lot of city driving, it could lower milage by as much as sox or seven mpg. If you do a lot of highway driving, it could actually improve your milage. The drag of open windows in a car on the highway will cause a larger loss of mpg then the A/C.
