Chevy Silverado Temperature Gauge
Q. I have a 1989 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with the 350. I did a tune up, new wires, plugs and distributor cap and rotor. When I restarted the vehicle the temperature gauge, factory in the truck, no longer works. Never had a problem with it before. No wires seem to have been torn and nothing seems to be unplugged and all the other gauges seem to be fine on a truck with 259,000 miles.
This is now the only thing not working and I prefer everything doing what its supposed to be.
A. Take a look at the drivers side front spark plugs. There is a temperature sender in between the front two plugs that controls the gauge. You may have left it unplugged when replacing the plug wires. It also may have gotten broken somewhere along it's route to the dash.
