GMC Yukon Fuel Tank Straps

Q. Hi, I just finished installing a new fuel pump, (Thanks for the help) into my GMC Yukon. After re-installing the fuel tank, I realized I don't know how much to torque the bolts that tighten the metal straps, that hold the tank in. My question; should the two hold down bolts be tightened all the way into the frame?

GMC Yukon Fuel Tank Straps

The tank seems to be secure but the strap bolts show about a half inch of thread. I'm concerned about crushing the tank or tearing the straps.

Thanks for all the help so far,
John

A. Something tells me that these are never pulled up tight to the body. A quick look under another one will tell you but it sounds to me like you got it covered.

Technically, the torque specification is 33 foot pounds.
