Toyota Camry Broken Door Handle Q. I have a 1992 Toyota Camry and the drivers door will not open from the outside. The door handle lifts with no resistance to it. I have removed the door panel to find the problem, but was unable to locate what should be attached to it. Can you please help? Thank you so much, Laura

A. I have found that a lot of times the point in back of the outside door handle where the linkage rod attaches just breaks off. It's made from a kind of cheap type of metal and after a time it just snaps off.

I circled the problem area I'm talking about. And the picture should help as a guide as to where the linkage rods go.
