Chevy S-10 Wiper Problems
Q. Problem: When I attempt to turn on the wiper blades, about 50% of the time they will not move. I try various speed settings on the wipers, still no motion. If I then turn the wiper switch off and wait a few minutes, it will, sometimes, go on and operate normally at all speed settings. Other times, it begins working normally on first try.
Would this be the delay circuit, and are there any details on your site on repairing or replacing that item?
- 1998 Chevy S-10
- 2.2 liter fuel injected 4 cylinder
- Automatic transmission
- 72,000 miles
- ABS brakes
- P/S, A/C, Cruise control
Thanks!
FredA. About 90% of the time the wiper delay circuit board is the problem. This may be under a recall so be sure to ask. If not, there are three torx head screws that hold the cover onto the motor. Then unplug the board and pull it off. Pretty simple.
