Seville Water Pump

Q. I had a water leak under the water pump of my 1991 Cadillac Seville. I was about one mile away from my home and drove the car back home. When I went to fill the radiator, as I was putting water in, it was just coming out under the pump. Is it just the pump or did something else go?

Thank you,
Steve

A. I believe it's just the water pump that went bad. There's a vent hole on the bottom of the pump neck, just behind the pulley. When the internal pump seal goes, coolant will pour right out of that vent hole.
