Thunderbird Door Locks

Q. I have a 1996 Red Ford Thunderbird, V-6, automatic transmission, fuel injection, ABS Brakes, P/S, A/C and Cruise control. Recently my power door locks will let me unlock the doors but it won't lock when I press 'Lock'. I don't have a remote control option and I never manually push them down.

I checked the fuses and they look fine, the power seat works and the 'unlock' works so I don't think it is the fuse. I have no idea why just the 'Lock' side of the button won't work. Please let me know what I can do to fix this problem.

Thank you for all of your help.
Susanne

A. Well, the problem is probably just the power lock switch. If it were an individual lock motor, the other doors would still work. And if the doors will lock and unlock with the right door switch, this would further confirm a bad drivers switch.
