Stalling Blazer

Q. My 1987 S-10 Blazer 2.8 liter V-6 recently started cutting out and remains hard to stay started. I have replaced the fuel filter no luck. Once the engine warms up when I come to a stop the engine runs rough and then dies.

It takes many tries to recrank and mostly happens on any sort of an incline, now running down the highway at 70 mph the engine will sometimes miss and hesitate as if it is not getting fuel. I also put a bottle of injector cleaner in my tank to no avail, it has now gotten to the point that when I stop, the engine dies and is hard hard hard headed about restarting.

Thanks,
Jef

A. I think the problem is in your Idle Speed Control Valve (ISCV). It could be dirty or partially clogged, or went bad all together. I would try taking the air intake hose of the throttle chamber and giving it a good cleaning with some carburetor cleaner and seeing if that helps.
