Isuzu Impulse Radio Antenna

Q. Hi Vince! I have one of those pull out radio antennas on the roof right above the driver that are so popular on import cars. What I want to do is to remove it completely and seal the hole. My question is, what can you recommend to keep my radio reception while not having an external antenna?

Isuzu Impulse Radio Antenna

My car is a 1984 Isuzu Impulse, which I have been slowly restoring. The car was designed by famed Italian designer Giorgio Giugaro as a show car in 1979, and went into production almost exactly as he had designed it. One of the differences is the external antenna, which the show car did not have, and my goal is make my Impulse look exactly like the show car, which is why I want to remove it.

Thanks,
David

A. You'll need an antenna of some sort to get any kind of reception and without the outside antenna, I'm not sure how you could do it. I suppose you could take the antenna, extend it and mount it on the inside of the trunk lid or inside the hatch. That should get you some reception.

I don't know what else to suggest to you.
