BMW 528i Compression Test
Q. Dear Sir, I am attaching the results of compression test done on my BMW 528i as you had advised. (Please see below for my earlier queries and your answers BMW 528i Concerns) The workshop says that this result means that the engine is in good shape. Can you please have a look onto the attached graph and advise me back?
Thanks,
RashidA. All the cylinders look good except for #2. That one looks a little bit weak to me.
Just to double check I would suggest doing an oil and filter change and have the compression test re-done with a regular compression gauge that reads in psi. You will get a more accurate reading. Cylinder #1 is reading 33 bar which is 478 psi.
I never did like that MotoMeter compression tester. It always left me scratching my head when I was done.
