Grand Cherokee Cruise In-op

Q. Hello, The question I have for you is that my cruise control is not working. When I turn on the cruise control the phrase "cruise" illuminates on my control panel. After this I push the set button and it does not work and or click over to activate the cruise control.

Do you have an idea of what could be wrong? Perhaps just a loose cable? Thank you for your time!

A. There are a few things you can check first off. Such as:

• A misadjusted brake switch. This could also cause an intermittent problem.
• Loose, damaged or corroded electrical connections at the servo. Corrosion should be removed from electrical terminals and a light coating of Dielectric Grease applied.
• Leaking vacuum reservoir.
• Loose or leaking vacuum hoses or connections.
• Defective one-way vacuum check valve.

If everything looks good then you'll need to see if there are any DTCs in the PCM. That will give you an idea where to look.
