Pontiac Grand Prix Dies, But Restarts

Q. I have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3.1 liter engine and automatic transmission. 84,000 miles! I have a problem mostly when I go up hills. The engine starts to buck and sometimes stalls. If it does it enough I will get a trouble code 42. It will run 60 to 70 mph on the flat ground. When it does stall I can put it in neutral and it starts right up.

Pontiac Grand Prix Dies, But Restarts

I have changed the plugs, oxygen sensor and gas filter. What should I try next???

A. You can try an ignition module for $250.00 or have someone try to diagnose it for you. It will be difficult to diagnose unless it won't start in the shop.
