Honda Seat Belt Alarm

Q. 1991 Honda Accord Seat Belt Alarm sounds intermittently. This year has the automatic main seat belt attached to the door.

I went through two summers of Honda no-start in the heat before I discovered the "Main Relay" problem.

Thank You,
David

A. There are two possibilities that come to mind. The first is a door switch. it is either bad or the door needs to be adjusted to fully close the switch. Look at where the back of the front door meets the body. It should be flush and even. If it is higher than the body, the door needs to be adjusted.

The other is the seat sensor. This is inside the seat and detects when someone is actually sitting in the seat.

There have been several recalls on these seat belts. You might want to stop at a Honda Dealer and make sure they were all done on your car.
