Nissan Altima Leaking Antifreeze Q. Every morning I notice a small puddle of antifreeze under the front of my car on the passengers side. I took it to a mechanic who replaced the radiator, however this was not the problem. I took it again to a different mechanic who used a pressure pump to determine where the leak was coming from. To no avail, the leak did not reveal itself.

The leak starts when the car is off for a certain amount of time but does not leak when the car is on. What should I check and /or change now?

• 126,000 miles

A. Outside of the radiator hoses, about the only thing that can leak on that side of the engine is the water pump or the piping.

I would say the most likely cause of the leak is the water pump shaft seal or the O-ring behind the water pump housing. That is, of course, assuming the radiator or heater hoses are okay.
