Nissan Altima Leaking Antifreeze
Q. Every morning I notice a small puddle of antifreeze under the front of my car on the passengers side. I took it to a mechanic who replaced the radiator, however this was not the problem. I took it again to a different mechanic who used a pressure pump to determine where the leak was coming from. To no avail, the leak did not reveal itself.
The leak starts when the car is off for a certain amount of time but does not leak when the car is on. What should I check and /or change now?
- 1993 Nissan Altima
- Fuel injected 2.4 liter
- Automatic transmission
- 126,000 miles
Thanks...

Outside of the radiator hoses, about the only thing that can leak on that side of the engine is the water pump or the piping.I would say the most likely cause of the leak is the water pump shaft seal or the O-ring behind the water pump housing. That is, of course, assuming the radiator or heater hoses are okay.
