Dodge Ram 2500 Water Leak

Q. Hi, I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 24 Valve Diesel. I just found this problem installing a CB radio. I took the panel at the base of the passenger side door off to run some wire under the carpet. I noticed that the underside of the carpet was soaked with water. It doesn't come through to the top side of the carpet because on the bottom of the carpet is rubber.

Attached to the rubber is foam, it was soaked. The A/C appears to be condensing. It drips water onto the ground but I don't know if it is dripping enough water. It has been raining a lot here in south Texas could this be caused by a leak some where?

If it is were would I look for a leak? This is the only place I have noticed water. The extended cab is dry and I think the drivers side is dry I haven't checked it yet.

Thanks,
Daylon

A. The first thing I do with a question like this is to check the TSBs and see if this is a known problem. In this case there is no TSB describing this problem.

You should check the A/C drain hose first to make sure it is securely attached to the HVAC case. That is the most likely place the water is coming in.

If it is securely attached, then the water is coming in from somewhere else. You may have to remove the carpeting and some trim panels to expose some joints. Then have someone spray the car with a hose while you are inside with a flash light.
