Grand Marquis Window Regulator

Q. Dear Vincent: I just bought a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. It belonged to my neighbor. I need to replace the left rear window regulator. I bought one from the local Ford dealer. What do I need to do? I have a print from the dealer of the components incorporated into the door design, but it's not good enough to explain what I need to do to replace the regulator. Can you help me?

Respectfully yours,
Jim

A. I'm assuming you have the door panel off. The trick to this is that there are three holes you have to drill to get to three of the bolts holding the regulator in. If you hold the new window regulator up to the old window regulator you'll see where the holes have to be drilled.

After that it's pretty much cut and dried. Take out the old window regulator and install the new window regulator.
