Mazda B2300 Check Engine Light
Q. Mazda B2300 Truck. The check engine light is coming on and won't go off, what could cause this? It is a 1996 model? Any information would help
A. The Check Engine Light or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) alerts driver to an OBD II emission-related component or system malfunction. The MIL comes on in the run/crank mode as a bulb check until the PIP (ignition) signal detected. The MIL should turn off after PIP signal is detected. The MIL remains on in if a malfunction is detected and present. If the malfunction disappears the MIL will turn off but the PCM will store a DTC to aid in troubleshooting.
