Honda Fuel Gauge

Q. Dear Mr. Ciulla: I'm writing on behalf of my sister-in-law who drives a 1994 Honda EX, automatic with about 95K miles. The gas gauge does not work and although I cannot find a recall for this problem was there ever a service bulletin for the gas gauge in the dash or the sending unit in the tank?

A. The only TSB I found on the gas gauge was issued 2/27/95 and it is number 95-013. From the bulletin:

SYMPTOM:
The fuel gauge does not go to the "F" mark when the tank is filled.

PROBABLE CAUSE:
The sending unit in the fuel tank has excessive electrical resistance.

VEHICLES AFFECTED:
1994 Accord: All
1995 Accord:
4-door thru VIN JHMCD5... SC038474
Coupe thru VIN 1HGCD5... SA089389
thru VIN 1HGCD7... SA021749
Wagon thru VIN 1HGCE1... SA006022
V6 thru VIN 1HGCE6... SA016814

Hope this helps.
