Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais Dies At Stops

Q. I have a 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais SL; It has 14,600 miles; My problem that recently I was driving down the street and made a right turn, suddenly the whole vehicle started to "shake". So I stopped the vehicle and put it in Neutral. This stopped the shake but when I put it back in drive the motor died out. It started immediately and I proceeded to turn at the next street and same thing happened.

Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais Dies At Stops

I proceeded on home at a speed of 50 mph and nothing happened until I slowed down to enter my driveway and it started the same thing again. I did not drive it this morning. It is in my garage now. Do you have any idea what the problem may be?

Thank you,
Phil

A. You need to get this looked at. Does it do it hot or cold? Sounds like it could very well be a bad TCC solenoid if it only does it when coming to a stop after cruising speed. If you unplug the TCC solenoid at the transmission and the symptoms go away, you have found the problem.
