The Air Has Stopped!

Q. The vehicle has rear climate control, or at least it did have it. I checked the obvious (two 15 amp fuses) which were both "good." The control switch (slide) in the front dash board supplies power to the rear climate control station, but it does not appear to be functional. It has been working all along, but stopped recently.

I suspect the front slide control, but I haven't ripped apart the front dash yet to find out. Where do I go from here?

A. If it is a total failure, there is another fuse to check. It is a 7.5 amp fuse labeled "A/C CONT" in the fuse box. If that is good, then the problem is with the rear climate control unit or the wiring.

The next thing to do is to remove the rear CC unit and check for power at the GY/BL wire. If you have power there, check the black ground wire. If the ground is good, then the rear CC unit is bad.

If you don't have power to the GY/BL wire, there is an open in the wire from the "A/C CONT" fuse and the rear CC unit connector.
