BMW 528i Radio System Q. I am the owner of a 1997 BMW 528i and I am facing a small problem with the radio system of my car. Every time that I unlock the car and put the key into the ignition the volume of the radio or the CD is too high. The reason that I am writing to you is that when I contact with my local official BMW service dealer about this problem he told me that it's a very common problem.

That all BMW 5 Series cars are having and the only solution to that is replacing the whole radio system. I am wondering if someone else had this problem before and if this truly the only solution because changing the (factory) audio system is a cost quite high.

A. It is a fairly common problem and radio replacement it the only way to correct it.

I would call BMW Customer Service and make an appointment with the District Service Rep and talk to him about it. He may be able to help you with some, or all, of the replacement cost.
