Cadillac Hood Release Cable
Q. 1987 Cadillac Sedan Deville. Had the car in to a "mechanic" to install radiator. Repair took way too long. When I finally found the car to have brought back to me the hood will not open normally.
There is a cable still attached to the hood release, but it will not pull, and has way too much slack-you can pull the release out nearly ninety degrees, which it has never done.
It seems to me that I will need to go up from the bottom somewhere around the radiator/AC to get to the cable. Any better idea?
Thanks a lot,
TomA. Why not take it back to the mechanic who did it? If you don't trust them to do it, it would help to look at another car similar to yours. You can see what needs to be tripped and make a metal rod and bend it to fit and go fishing in through the grill or up from underneath.
