Z28 Clutch Problem

Q. Hi, I have a 1995 Camaro Z28 Convertible with 80,000 miles on it. It is a 6 speed manual transmission. It has ABS, P/S, A/C, and cruise. Recently I started having a problem that when I drive the car for a while, usually around 20 minutes, it starts to shift roughly. And most of the time I can't get it into reverse at all.

If I let it sit for a while the car starts right back up and shifts fine. I have no idea about what is causing it. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks,
Jared

A. Since the problem seems to be temperature related the first thing I would do is flush out the clutch hydraulic system and replace it with fresh fluid. The fluid is more than likely contaminated with moisture and would cause the symptoms you describe.
