Lebaron Power Window Motors

Q. I am looking for information on the wiring of a 1990 Chrysler Lebaron convertible. It has power windows and the back ones will not go down. My mechanic said it is not the motors in the door because both would not go at the same time. He said it is in the wiring and is looking for the schematics of the wiring but we cannot find it.

I also have a ding when I hit a bump or turn the wheel to make a turn, it is making me crazy, do you have any ideas what this could be? It is not the switch, that has been replaced.

A. Under normal circumstances I would agree with your mechanic. The chances of both motors going bad at the same time is extremely small. However there was a recall on all 1990, 1991 and 1992 model year Chrysler LeBaron convertibles in June of 1992. From the recall bulletin:

The quarter window motors on involved vehicles may fail due to corrosion of an internal bearing. This is caused by water buildup from blockage of a drain hole in the rear quarter panel where the motor is mounted. To correct the condition, drain holes must be drilled in the sills below each side quarter window.

I would head on over to the Chrysler dealer and see if they can do anything for you. I've included the wiring diagram, just in case.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean by "ding".
